Staking
Stake DALLA to secure the BelizeChain network and earn rewards. Validators produce blocks and contribute useful work, while nominators support trusted validators and share in era rewards.
Staking Overview
Validator Staking
Validators stake DALLA to participate in block production under the PoUW consensus mechanism. A minimum stake is required to enter the active validator set each era.
Nominator Support
DALLA holders who don't run validator infrastructure can nominate trusted validators. Nominators share in era rewards proportional to their bonded stake.
Era-Based Rewards
Rewards are calculated and distributed at the end of each era. The Staking pallet accounts for validator performance, uptime, and useful work contributions.
Proof of Useful Work
Unlike traditional PoS, BelizeChain validators earn additional rewards by contributing useful compute — AI training for Nawal and quantum circuit execution for Kinich.
Slashing Protection
Validators that go offline, equivocate, or behave maliciously face stake slashing. The severity scales with the number of simultaneous offenders to discourage coordinated attacks.
Unbonding Period
Staked DALLA enters a bonding period. Unbonding requires a cooldown window before funds become transferable, ensuring network security during validator transitions.
How Staking Works
01Bond DALLA
Transfer DALLA to the Staking pallet's bonding mechanism. Choose a validator to nominate or register as a validator with the required minimum stake.
02Enter Active Set
At the start of each era, the top-staked validators are elected into the active set. Nominators' stakes are allocated to their chosen validators.
03Produce Blocks & Useful Work
Active validators produce blocks and contribute useful compute work — AI model training, quantum circuit execution, and data storage verification.
04Earn Rewards
At era end, rewards are distributed proportionally. Validators take a configurable commission, and the remainder flows to nominators based on their stake share.
