ZK Proof
Zero-Knowledge Proofs enable BelizeChain to verify claims without revealing underlying data. Citizens prove identity, institutions verify compliance, and transactions stay confidential — all cryptographically guaranteed.
Capabilities
Privacy-Preserving Identity
Citizens can prove identity attributes — age, citizenship, credentials — without revealing underlying personal data. The Identity pallet integrates ZK proofs for selective disclosure.
Confidential Transactions
Transfer DALLA and bBZD with amount privacy. ZK range proofs verify transaction validity without exposing balances, protecting financial privacy while maintaining auditability.
Compliance Without Exposure
The Compliance pallet uses ZK proofs for KYC/AML checks. Institutions verify regulatory compliance without accessing raw citizen data — privacy and regulation coexist.
On-Chain Proof Verification
A dedicated ZK verifier is embedded in the runtime. Proofs submitted on-chain are verified deterministically by all validators, ensuring trustless verification at consensus level.
Recursive Proof Composition
Multiple ZK proofs can be composed recursively — proving that a proof is valid without re-verifying the original statement. This enables scalable batch verification and proof aggregation.
Cross-Pallet Integration
ZK proofs aren't siloed — they flow across pallets. A land transfer on LandLedger can verify identity via ZK, check compliance, and settle payment, all privacy-preserving.
Proof Systems
zk-SNARKs
Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge. Compact proof size and fast verification make them ideal for on-chain verification where block space and computation are constrained.
zk-STARKs
Scalable Transparent Arguments of Knowledge. No trusted setup required, quantum-resistant security assumptions, and efficient for large computation proofs via Kinich integration.
Bulletproofs
Short non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs without trusted setup. Used for range proofs in confidential transactions — proving a value is within a valid range without revealing it.
PLONK
Universal and updatable structured reference string. A single trusted setup supports arbitrary circuits, making it practical for diverse proof requirements across BelizeChain's pallets.
