BNS Domains
The BelizeChain Name Service provides .bz domain registration resolved on-chain through the BNS pallet. Domains map to DAG-hosted content served via Pakit, with automated SSL certificate management through Let's Encrypt and authoritative DNS resolution for all standard record types.
BNS Features
WebsiteManager
Integrates the DAG backend with the BNS pallet for domain-to-content mapping. Supports activate_hosting and update_hosting_content extrinsics with bandwidth tracking and subscription verification.
HostingService
HTTP server built on aiohttp with Host-header domain routing. Serves DAG content directly, with caching, custom error pages, and per-domain bandwidth tracking.
BNS DNS Server
Authoritative DNS for .bz domains over UDP and TCP on ports 5353/53. BNSResolver queries the blockchain for A, AAAA, TXT, CNAME, and MX records with a 5-minute cache TTL.
SSL Certificate Manager
Automated Let's Encrypt ACME with HTTP-01 challenges. Issues 90-day certificates with renewal at 60 days, stores certificate hashes on-chain via the BNS pallet, and supports multi-domain SAN certificates.
External Domain Verification
DNSVerifier enables external domain verification via TXT records (_belizechain-verify.domain). Uses SHA-256 token generation with 48-hour token expiry for ownership proof.
Storage Proof Connector
Registers content proofs on BelizeChain via the BNS pallet's register_content_proof extrinsic. Links hosted content hashes to on-chain records for verifiable, tamper-proof web hosting.
