Governance
BelizeChain is governed by its community. Every DALLA holder can propose, vote, and shape the future of Belize's sovereign blockchain infrastructure through on-chain governance.
How Governance Works
On-Chain Proposals
Any DALLA holder can submit a governance proposal. Proposals cover runtime upgrades, treasury spending, parameter changes, and community initiatives.
Conviction Voting
Vote with conviction — lock your DALLA for longer periods to increase your voting weight. Higher conviction means a stronger voice in network decisions.
Treasury Governance
The on-chain treasury is funded by transaction fees and governed by DALLA holders. Approved proposals receive funding for ecosystem development.
Validator Elections
Validators are elected through the Staking pallet. Nominators can back validators they trust, and the network selects the active set each era.
Forkless Upgrades
Substrate enables forkless runtime upgrades. Governance proposals can modify the blockchain runtime — adding features, fixing issues — without a hard fork.
Community Pallet
The Community pallet manages grants, local initiatives, and ecosystem projects. Proposals are submitted on-chain and funded through community governance.
