Radio
A decentralized radio mesh network that extends BelizeChain access beyond internet coverage. Transactions relay through Meshtastic radio nodes — keeping rural communities and disaster zones connected to the sovereign blockchain.
Features
Offline Transaction Relay
Submit signed transactions via radio when internet connectivity is unavailable. Transactions are queued and relayed to the network once a radio-connected node reaches the chain.
Mesh Network Topology
Radio nodes form a self-healing mesh network across Belize. Each node relays data to its neighbors, extending coverage without centralized infrastructure or cellular dependency.
Rural Connectivity
Belize's rural communities — from the Cayo District to southern Toledo — gain blockchain access through low-cost radio nodes. No cell tower or fiber connection required.
Disaster Resilience
When hurricanes knock out internet and cellular infrastructure, the radio mesh keeps critical services running — identity verification, emergency payments, and government coordination.
Meshtastic Integration
Meshtastic open-source radio firmware enables kilometer-scale mesh coverage on low-cost hardware. Solar-powered Meshtastic nodes can operate indefinitely in remote locations with zero infrastructure cost.
Lightweight Protocol
A compact binary protocol optimized for low-bandwidth radio channels. Transaction payloads are compressed and batched to maximize throughput over constrained RF links.
How It Works
01Sign Locally
Users sign transactions on their device (Maya Wallet) without network connectivity. The signed extrinsic is serialized into a compact binary payload ready for radio transmission.
02Radio Broadcast
The signed payload is broadcast via Meshtastic radio to nearby mesh nodes. Each node in range receives, validates the signature, and relays to the next hop in the mesh.
03Gateway Relay
When the transaction reaches a gateway node with internet connectivity, it's submitted to BelizeChain via standard WebSocket RPC (port 9944) for block inclusion.
04Confirmation Propagation
Block confirmation is relayed back through the radio mesh to the originating device, completing the round trip. Users see transaction finality even in offline regions.
