Jaguar Mode
BelizeChain's burst performance mode — activated during emergencies, elections, and peak demand. The network shifts into maximum throughput with priority finality, then gracefully returns to standard operations.
Capabilities
Burst Throughput
Jaguar Mode temporarily overclocks the runtime, increasing block capacity and reducing block times during peak demand. Throughput scales beyond the standard ~2,000 TPS baseline.
Priority Finality
Critical transactions — emergency government payments, disaster relief distributions, identity verifications — receive priority inclusion and accelerated finality in Jaguar Mode.
Emergency Activation
Governance can activate Jaguar Mode through an expedited on-chain vote during national emergencies. A supermajority of validators must confirm activation within a single era.
Adaptive Gas Pricing
During Jaguar Mode, the fee model adapts dynamically. Priority transactions pay premium fees that flow to validators incentivizing maximum block production, while standard transactions remain affordable.
Validator Coordination
Active validators coordinate through the Consensus pallet to maximize block output. PoUW tasks are temporarily deprioritized in favor of raw transaction processing throughput.
Automatic Sunset
Jaguar Mode has a built-in time limit. After the configured duration or when governance votes to deactivate, the network gracefully returns to standard operating parameters.
Activation Scenarios
Natural Disaster Response
When hurricanes or floods hit Belize, Jaguar Mode enables rapid bBZD distribution for relief, mass identity verification for evacuees, and priority land damage assessments on LandLedger.
National Election
During elections, Jaguar Mode handles the surge of governance votes and identity verifications. Every citizen's vote is recorded on-chain with priority finality — no congestion delays.
Economic Surge Events
Tourism seasons, national holidays, and commerce spikes can overwhelm standard throughput. Jaguar Mode absorbs the transaction surge without degrading user experience.
Mass Onboarding
When a new government program launches — payroll migration, digital ID rollout, land title digitization — Jaguar Mode handles the initial flood of registrations and transactions.
