Proof of Useful Work
BelizeChain's PoUW consensus ensures that the computational work securing the network also powers sovereign AI training and quantum circuit evaluation — no wasted cycles.
How PoUW Works
Work Assignment
The Consensus pallet assigns useful compute tasks to validators each era. Tasks include AI model training batches (for Nawal) and quantum circuit evaluations (for Kinich).
Task Execution
Validators execute assigned work using their compute resources. Results are submitted on-chain with cryptographic proofs of correct computation.
Verification
Submitted work is verified by the network through a combination of spot-checking, redundant computation, and zero-knowledge proofs where applicable.
Block Production
Validators who complete useful work earn the right to produce blocks. Block rewards in DALLA are proportional to the quantity and quality of work delivered.
Network Security
The network remains secure through economic incentives — validators stake DALLA, and slashing penalties deter malicious behavior or false work submissions.
Resource Efficiency
Unlike Proof of Work, no energy is wasted on arbitrary hash puzzles. Every compute cycle contributes to BelizeChain's AI and quantum infrastructure.
How PoUW Compares
vs. Proof of Work
PoW wastes enormous energy solving arbitrary hash puzzles with no useful output. PoUW channels the same compute into AI training and quantum circuit execution.
vs. Proof of Stake
PoS secures the network through capital lockup alone. PoUW adds productive computation on top of staking, so validators contribute compute while securing the chain.
vs. Proof of Authority
PoA relies on trusted entities. PoUW is permissionless — anyone can stake DALLA, run a validator, and earn rewards by contributing useful work.
