Bridges
BelizeChain connects to the broader blockchain ecosystem through cross-chain bridges. XCM messaging links to Polkadot parachains, while dedicated bridges reach Ethereum and EVM chains — all governed by on-chain proposals.
Bridge Features
XCM Messaging
Cross-Consensus Messaging (XCM) enables trustless communication between BelizeChain and other Substrate-based chains in the Polkadot ecosystem. Transfer assets, data, and instructions across parachains.
Ethereum Bridge
A bidirectional bridge to Ethereum allows DALLA and bBZD to flow between chains. ERC-20 wrapped tokens on Ethereum and native assets on BelizeChain remain fully interchangeable.
Asset Transfers
Move tokens across chains with the Interoperability pallet. Locked assets on one chain mint equivalents on the other — fully collateralized and verifiable on both sides.
Relay Chain Integration
As a Substrate chain, BelizeChain can connect to Polkadot's relay chain for shared security and cross-chain composability. Interoperability pallet manages parachain registration and slot bonding.
Bridge Validators
A dedicated set of bridge validators monitor and relay cross-chain messages. Multi-signature verification ensures that bridge operations require consensus before assets move.
Sovereign Control
Bridges are governed by on-chain proposals. The Governance pallet controls which chains BelizeChain bridges to, what assets are allowed, and what rate limits apply — Belize stays in control.
Supported Networks
Polkadot Ecosystem
Native XCM integration with Polkadot parachains — Acala, Moonbeam, Astar, and others. Shared security through the relay chain, trustless message passing, and cross-chain DeFi composability.
Ethereum & EVM Chains
Bridge to Ethereum mainnet and EVM-compatible chains (Polygon, BSC, Arbitrum). Wrapped DALLA (wDALLA) and wrapped bBZD trade on Ethereum DEXs and DeFi protocols.
Bitcoin (Planned)
Future integration for BTC-backed assets on BelizeChain. Enables Bitcoin holders to participate in BelizeChain's DeFi ecosystem via trustless peg mechanisms.
CARICOM Chains (Planned)
Planned bridges to future Caribbean Community blockchain networks. Cross-border trade settlement, identity federation, and shared governance between Caribbean nations.
