Dual-Currency Economic Model
BelizeChain operates a dual-currency system designed for economic stability and sovereignty.
The Currencies
| Currency | Purpose | Type | Backing | Decimals | Inflation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DALLA | Transaction fees, staking, governance | Native token | Algorithmic | 12 | 2% annual |
| bBZD | Payments, commerce, savings | Stablecoin | 1:1 BZD (Central Bank) | 12 | 0% (pegged) |
How It Works
- Central Bank deposits BZD into the system.
- The minting logic issues bBZD 1:1 to the Central Bank's wallet, which is distributed to citizens.
- Users spend bBZD at verified merchants.
- Spending at verified merchants generates tourism cashback in DALLA (2–8%, by category).
- Users can redeem bBZD back to the Central Bank, which burns the token and returns physical BZD.
Key Features:
- bBZD Peg: Always 1:1 with Belize Dollar (Central Bank guaranteed)
- Tourism Incentives: 2–8% cashback in DALLA for verified merchant spending (dining 3%, transportation 2%, shopping 4%)
- Algorithmic Issuance: annual inflation of 2%, per the economy pallet's
ANNUAL_INFLATION_RATE.
