BelizeChain Core Overview

BelizeChain is a Substrate blockchain in active development for Belize's national digital transformation. It powers Belize's sovereign digital infrastructure with 19 Belize-specific pallets, a dual-currency system (DALLA + bBZD), built-in compliance, and WebAssembly smart contracts.

Core Features

  • ๐Ÿ›๏ธ 19 Belize-Specific Pallets: Complete governance, finance, compliance, justice, moderation, and mesh networking stack
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Dual Currency System: DALLA (native) + bBZD (BZD-pegged stablecoin)
  • โš–๏ธ Regulatory Compliance: Built-in KYC/AML, FSC oversight, sanctions enforcement
  • ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Democratic Governance: District councils, on-chain voting, emergency powers
  • ๐Ÿ“œ Smart Contracts: WebAssembly (ink! 5.1.1) with PSP22/PSP34/PSP37 standards
  • ๐Ÿ” Enterprise Security: Continuous audits, coverage-gated CI

Technical Stack

  • Framework: Substrate framework (Polkadot SDK stable2606) using Rust
  • Consensus: Proof of Useful Work (PoUW)
  • Interoperability: Ethereum & Polkadot bridges
  • Performance: ~2,000 TPS (aspirational target; no independent benchmark in the workspace โ€” unverified as of 2026-09-10 docs audit), 6-second block time
  • Security: Multi-sig treasury, time-locked governance

Deployment

The production deployment of BelizeChain requires a 4+ core CPU, 8GB+ RAM, and Ubuntu 20.04+. (Note: current live state is the Ceiba testnet, not mainnet production.) The chain runs optimized releases with a complete test suite enforcing coverage-gated CI across all pallets.
